Celebration of the Life of Mother Agnes Jemima Gibson Harris (Ayo) Sep. 21, 2019
This sad event occured on Monday August 19, 2019 at 2:15 pm at Staten Island University Hospital Staten Island NY USA. SISTER or AYO as she was affectionately called by her sister and everyone else was born in Owensgrove Grand Bassa County on December 17, 1924. She was the 5th of 9 children born to Lewis Urias and Martha Purvist Gibson. Ayo was the proprietress of the AYO's AFRICAN Restaurant on Front Street. She ran this restaurant from 1969 untill 1986. She was predeceased by her Parents Lewis Urias and Martha Purvist Gibson, , Her Husband Joe Harris, 4 Children, Edwin Gibson, Grace Harris, Josephine Harris- Freeman , Jerry Butler, 5 brothers, 2 sisters Emma and Etta amongst others. Cherishing her memories are: Daughter -Carlnette P and son in Law David Harris, Son- Layfette Taylor, Sister- Martha Gibson Menjor, Brother-Thomas Gibson, Many Grand children which include: Emma and Thomas Gbai, Rennie, Tomah and Famatta Harris, Michaelyn and Nimely West, Nathan Gibson, Tonia Freeman-Dahi, John Edgar, Agnes Ayo and Emmanuel Freeman amongst others, Many Nieces and Nephews including: Matilda Menjor- Dempster, Finda Menjor- Kromah, Prince Menjor, Obias Higgins, Comfort Toe, Rachel Gibson, Shirley N Gibson, Johnny Russell Smith, Etmonia Harris and a host of other relatives and friends.
